Brand new GMK legends available to everyone in the community.
Hey! My name is Tim, but I go by maxvoltar on the internet. I’m a keycap and keyboard designer, and wanted to share some details about my latest project.
In short: I’ve been working with GMK on a full set of new double shot CYL legends, and anyone can use them. We’ll kick things off with icon mods, but everything is in place for icon+text and text mods. Continue reading for more details.
GMK’s Cherry legends are an absolute classic with a rich history. That said, they have inconsistencies, a couple of (charming) defects, and a whole range of typographic issues.
Over the past couple of years I’ve been improving my own set of default legends to the point where I’m extremely happy with how they look. Bringing them to doubleshot is a huge step, and I couldn’t be more excited to make them available to the entire community.
I did my best to come up with a viable but extensive starter kit, but obviously certain keys are missing. There’s no Nor, DE or UK support, and certain legends might not be available for some more exotic key sizes.

Absolutely! Strokes for the mods I designed are 0.45mm wide, use rounded caps, and icons don’t exceed a circle of 5.21x5.21mm, or a square of 4.61x4.61mm.
